    Description

Lot of 4 SEWING ITEMS -- Porcelain/Ceramic PIN CUSHIONS -- were likely produced in the second half of the 1900s. The girl measure approximately 6.25 tall, while the other three measure approximately 3 inches long. The pin cushion is on the hat of the girl, and are in openings on each of the others. The girl also doubles as a thimble holder, as there is a place for a thimble on the tray she is holding. She has a sticker on the bottom: Schmid, The Creative Hand, Made in Japan. I would guess she was produced in the 1960s, or thereabouts. She also comes with a plastic thimble. The other 3 all have extra ceramic flowers decorating the surfaces. The swan is a souvenir piece that has two stickers on it -- one says, Atlantic City, while the other says, Made in Taiwan. Taiwan produced this type of item in the 1970s, so I would presume that is when this was made. The other two have no stickers or other markings, but they look to be of a similar age and style as the swan, so they are likely from a similar time period. These are all original, as far as I can see. Please refer to the attached images for more information on size, construction, and condition. Overall condition: Solid VG+/Excellent..... The pin cushion portions all show light signs of use, including mild soiling or fading. The ceramic portions are in great shape -- I don't see any chips, cracks or breaks on any of the 4 pieces. They will display quite well. ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage sewing items. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime collector and she especially loved sewing memorabilia and antique buttons. She is downsizing, so my brother and I am helping her sell some of her collections. (You can find the items my brother is listing at sellmomsstuff1). But I am not completely familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of her collecting specialties. I try to use various notes she left with items to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, may not be terms I am familiar or experience with. So please use the attached images to form your own opinions. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any specific hobby standards. Please contact me if you have specific questions, and I will answer them as best I can. PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE WONDERFUL VINTAGE SEWING ITEMS, ANTIQUE BUTTONS, AND OTHER COLLECTIBLES.
